Jam Sessions
THe Honor Jazz Jam
Tuesdays 8:30–11:30pm
1411 Powell St., EmeryvilleTrumpeter/Steel Pan player Chris Aschman and Isaac co-run this all ages jazz jam session that features an incredible houseband set, followed by great musicians sitting in and playing together. Honor Bar is an all ages space with wonderful drinks and a great affordable happy hour menu.
The Breakroom Jazz Jam
Wednesdays 9–11:45pm
2021 Shattuck Ave., BerkeleyIsaac runs this jam along with great musicians Jesse Levit and Colin Hogan who perform a houseset upfront and then great musicians sit in and play jazz standards. The Breakroom is all ages and also is a great pool hall.
The Muse Jam
Thursdays 8–11pm
1970 Grant St., ConcordIsaac and Tom Catanzaro host this jazz jam focused on mentorship and advocacy. Professional musicians will come and play and also get to collaborate and offer encouragement and mentorship to musicians newer to the art form. It's close to Concord Bart and has a really cool and relaxed environment.
